Dyson Black Friday deals live: expert picks for the best Aussie offers on vacuums, fans, hair tools and more
Prices on Dyson's coveted products are dropping and we've found the best offers on fans, vacuums and headphones
Black Friday sales in Australia are in full swing, and that makes the next few days – or at least until December 2, which is Cyber Monday – the best time to pick up a Dyson product.
The popular British brand, best known for making some of the best cordless stick vacuums, is already at it. There's a dedicated section for Dyson Black Friday deals on the brand's online storefront, with hundreds slashed off the coveted products.
From cordless vacuums to hair-styling tools, and purifiers that look like pieces of art in the home, Dyson does make some excellent products. In fact, you can now even buy a lamp – called the Dyson Solarcycle Morph – that has a plethora of functionalities to help maintain circadian rhythms and keep you alert.
However, every single one of them carries a premium price tag. So, if you can find them discounted, you really should pounce on the chance and suck up those savings. And while you can shop directly at Dyson, who will price match if you find an item cheaper elsewhere, we're listing the best Dyson Black Friday deals here from all trusted retailers to ease your shopping.

Best Black Friday Dyson deals
Vacuums
Save AU$720
It's the most powerful Dyson yet and this is the exclusive model that comes with every single attachment you can think of (6 in total) along with 2 cleaning heads – the Digital Motorbar and the Fluffy Optic. You'll also get the Dyson Free Dok Multi, which is a free-standing dock to stow it all away. If there was a Dyson Black Friday deal worth your money, this one is it!
Save AU$679.01
This whopping 44% discount on Amazon is absolutely a steal, especially since the price just keeps dropping! It is Dyson's most powerful cordless vac and, despite being a little top-heavy, I would still not hesitate recommending it at this price. You'll get 2 cleaning heads and 2 attachments in the box, which isn't bad at all. However, if you don't mind spending a little more, the Dyson Gen5detect Complete at Dyson for AU$879 (listed above) is better value as you get much more.
Save AU$801
If you live in a large home, having a high-capacity dust canister on your cordless vacuum cleaner is handy. Dyson's Gen5outsize comes with a bigger bin that's 150% larger than the usual Dyson ones, plus larger cleaning heads to get the job done faster. You even get a bigger battery that promises up to 140 minutes of fade-free power. However, that bigger battery and larger fixtures makes this a heavy machine, so it might be unwieldy for some users. Note that this is the Complete model, so you get the Free Dok Multi included.
Save AU$751
If you aren't too fussed about a free-standing dock, you get the biggest Dyson cordless vacuum for a lot less if you opt for the Absolute model. Everything about it stays the same (except the colour scheme), but you won't get as many inclusions here. It's still a fantastic option for larger homes or ones with pets.
Save AU$200
Dyson's first wet-dry cordless stick vacuum is pretty handy to have around the home – you can vacuum first and then follow it up with a mop. In our Dyson V15s Detect Submarine review we found the mopping to be very good indeed but a design flaw makes some of that dirty water slosh out when you want to clean out the Submarine attachment. If you can find a way around it, this is one could be well worth considering. Admittedly this discount isn't much to write home about, but even 10% is something saved.
Save AU$221.86
This is a slightly disappointing offer on what I consider to be the best Dyson vacuum still, despite the Gen5detect being more powerful. It's lighter, thus easier to use, and has a really impressive amount of suction. It's been cheaper before but, at the time of writing, the 15% discount on Amazon is the best there is. You get a battery life of up to 60 minutes, and it comes with the Fluffy Optic cleaning head to light up microscopic dust particles on hard floors. There’s a separate cleaner head for carpets, as well as three extra attachments.
Save AU$363.01 with coupon
This older Dyson vacuum was down to AU$589 on Amazon during October's Prime Day sale, so this is a disappointing offer, especially considering the more powerful V11 listed above is cheaper. However, it would be remiss if us to not list the discount here. It offers fade-free power for up to 60 minutes, and this model comes with just the one cleaner head – the Digital Motorbar – and two extra attachments. There's an additional AU$13.01 coupon box on the listing page, so be sure to check that before adding to cart.
Save AU$370
The V8 might be Dyson's oldest current model, but it's the best option on a budget. That said, it was AU$347 not that long ago, but we still think this is a decent offer. This lightweight vacuum will give you up to 40 minutes of runtime and will ship with the usual Digital Motorbar for the floor, plus the Hair Screw Tool, the flexible tube to get the V8 under furniture and two other attachments.
Save AU$570
It might have a small bin, but if you live in a small home, the V12 Detect Slim might be perfect for you. You get a powerful motor – the same as in the V15 Detect – and up to 60 minutes or runtime. The original laser-lit Fluffy Optic tool for hard floors is also included.
Save AU$450
Dyson’s first robot vacuum cleaner to be available in Australia is pretty powerful and can do a decent job of getting into room edges to suck up dirt, but it is expensive and, in all honesty, not great value. However, with a decent chunk of change slashed, it’s not a bad option if you really want a Dyson robovac. And just to watch that little tongue pop out to clean room edges might make this worthwhile for some people.
Hair-care tools
Save AU$251
With a saving of over AU$250, you get a hair dryer with a plethora of sensors that make sure your scalp remains healthy, automatically adjusting heat and airflow depending on how far away the dryer is from your head. You also get a bunch of magnetic attachments for a styled blow dry too – this hair dryer won a TechRadar Gadget of the Year Award, so it's well worth considering.
Save AU$100 with code
Coming directly from the official Dyson store on eBay, this small discount on the listed price is not a bad offer at all, considering you're getting the 20mm, 30mm and 40mm Long barrels for curls and waves, plus two brushes (one is a volumiser) and the flyaways attachment too. The matching storage case is also included, but note that this is suited to long hair lengths. Just be sure to use the code SAVEBF at checkout to get the full discount.
Available for the same price in Copper/Nickel as well.
Save AU$251
Promising to take way less time to straighten hair by working just fine in wet hair, the Airstrait is the hair-care tool making headlines. It won't burn wet hair as other straighteners would, leaving you with less hair damage and a quicker styling session in the mornings.
Save AU$201
While the Dyson Airstrait is busy making headlines, the older Corrale hair straightener is getting a rather nice 29% discount on Amazon. It's a heavy appliance, but it works cordlessly and even has an airplane mode that disconnects the battery while you're travelling. It also has a safety shut off that activates after about 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity.
Save AU$200
It might be marginally cheaper than the Nural, but with the current Amazon discount, the newer and smarter hair dryer is the better buy. Still, the old Supersonic has a fan following and if you've been holding off for it, Dyson's got a good price on the Copper/Nickel colourway. It's not the best price we've seen though – which was AU$399 – but it's still a decent saving.
Fans, heaters and air purifiers
Save AU$122
This is part of the latest range of air purifying fans and heaters from Dyson, with improved filtration following the HEPA H13 standard. This purifier oscillates 350º to cool you down in summer or warm you up in winter, and the filter is easy to change. You'll know when you need to via the tiny display on the machine. It comes with a handy little remote control and offers a night mode where it quietens down to allow lighter sleepers to rest easy.
Save AU$324
This Dyson appliance offers heating, cooling and air purification, making it more space-efficient than investing in separate devices. Like the name suggests, this device removes formaldehyde from your home, and Dyson claims the appliance destroys it completely. It’s a rather expensive device, but it looks modern and sleek, and the all-in-one aspect is appealing.
Save AU$361 with eBay Plus
With the Australian summer here, you might be thinking it’s time to upgrade your old pedestal fan. The Dyson Purifier Cool is a futuristic-looking stand-up fan, which can keep you cool while also purifying the air around you. It rotates up to 350° and even has a night mode, so it uses its quietest settings. This purifying fan was available for AU$599 during last year’s Black Friday, so this is a very welcome discount, even for non-Plus members who get it for AU$588.
Save AU$254
Stay cool in summer and warm in winter with the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link. A nifty gadget you can use all year round to keep a room at a comfortable temperature, it also acts as an air purifier, filtering the air it circulates so you can breathe easy. Plus, it's nabbed a solid AU$254 discount directly from its maker.
Save AU$100
This version of Dyson’s bladeless fan can keep you warm in winter, cool you down in summer, and purify the air in your home all year round. The air purifier is sealed to HEPA H13 standard, and Dyson says whatever it captures stays inside. This device doesn’t have the formaldehyde-destroying feature, but that means it’s a bit less expensive.
Headphones
Save AU$100
We thought these cans were overpriced in our Dyson OnTrac review, but appreciated that the British brand has done a far better job on its second set of headphones than the Zone. While sound is lovely, there are others who do it better, but just being able to customise the headphones might well be worth the cash.
Lighting
Save AU$201
I tested this lamp and, although I thought it was overpriced, I couldn't help but admire it, calling it a "showstopper" in my Dyson Solarcycle Morph review. Even with this discount at Mobileciti (with very limited stock I might add), it's a pricey lamp but if you want to maintain your body's circadian rhythm, you might want to consider it.
LIVE: Latest Updates
Are this year's Black Friday deals living up to the hype?
From what I've been seeing across Amazon and Dyson's own online storefront, I would have say a very resounding yes to that question. Dyson Black Friday deals are, indeed, living up to the hype.
I've covered Black Friday sales for seven years now and I don't think I have ever seen prices like this. Standout offers have to the be Gen5detect vacuums – both the Complete and the Absolute versions – and also the two latest Dyson hair-care products – the Supersonic Nural hair dryer and the Airstrait straightener.
These are record-low prices that absolutely deserve your attention. It's a pity the V11 Advanced is no longer available for AU$569 and I'm not surprised at all – at that price, I'm surprised it was in stock for over a week!
So if you have been keen on a Dyson vacuum, fan or hair-care tool, hurry!
Are Dyson haircare devices worth it?
I may not have reviewed every single Dyson haircare range, but I have had the privilege of spending some time with each of them and, let me tell you, they are good. But that goodness comes at a high price, which mostly seems to go into paying off Dyson's R&D department. So it's fantastic news that the latest in Dyson haircare has seen some seriously significant price drops for Black Friday.
To answer the original question, though, it's a definite yes from me if you can make your budget stretch.
The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer started it all, releasing as Dyson's first hair care device in 2012, and at 12 years old, it's still very popular, although it's a shame there aren't any significant discounts on it this year. It offers supremely speedy drying times, convenient magnetic attachments and sleek results.
It still stands as one of the best hair dryers available, though the newer Supersonic Nural packs more smart features like Scalp Protection and the energy-saving low power mode. And considering it's dropped down to just AU$498 on Amazon, it's the better value offer.
In case you missed it, the Dyson Airwrap remains a hugely popular and virally successful multi-styler, with the brand releasing multiple new editions to accommodate different hair types and lengths. I have a colleague who uses hers almost every day, and she's noticed her hair is less damaged than when she previously used a conventional hair dryer. That said, the Airwrap won't be ideal for coarser or thicker hair types.
Some devices such as its straighteners (the Dyson Airstrait and Dyson Coralle) are certainly innovative, but won't be a top pick for everyone. While I wasn't expecting to see much of a discount on either this Black Friday, they're both down to record-low prices on Amazon. They work well for some specific hair types, typically medium thickness straighter or wavy hair that isn't too porous, but otherwise might not do the job as well as conventional ceramic plates. Still, the lofty price tag makes them inferior to market-leading, traditional straighteners.
Innovative and designed to keep hair healthy, these well-engineered straighteners became a new favorite for our tester, as you can read about in our full Dyson Airtstrait review.
The straighteners heat up instantly, and the drying process is snag and sizzle free, resulting in shiny, silky hair. Using focused airflow to smooth your hair without causing as much damage as traditional hair dryers and straighteners, the Airstrait takes advantage of Dyson's long history of steering air in the right direction.
The 45º blades are capable of drying hair sections in one pass, although I'd recommend going back over each section with a cool shot, as this is a good trick to help set the hair in place.
The Dyson Airstrait offers some efficient features, too, with intuitive airflow adjustment and an auto timer, meaning that it detects your hair and adjusts the volume of airflow to suit, and shuts the airflow off once the straightener has been left open for more than three seconds.
I would happily recommend the Dyson Airstrait Straightener to anyone wanting to achieve a shiny and naturally straight look without subjecting your tresses to excess heat, especially at its current price.
Dyson Airstrait: was AU$749 now AU$498 on Amazon
Dyson's range of vacuums is extensive, and that's despite the British brand discontinuing its upright and barrel vacuums in Australia. In fact, the cheapest and entry-level option is the Dyson V8 range.
Even within each generation there are multiple variations that have different names and tools. Thankfully the functionality doesn't change. How then do you decide which one is best for you? Because we understand navigating Dyson's ecosystem is a minefield, TechRadar's Homes Editor has put together a handy list of all the different attachments to make it easy for you to understand what each one does.
So make sure to check out our Dyson vacuum cleaner tools guide during the Black Friday weekend so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Dyson V11 deal
This has probably got to be the highlight offer for Black Friday 2024. The Dyson V11 Advanced was already steeply discounted on Amazon, but an additional AU$50 price cut has brought it down to its lowest price yet.
The V11 is now Dyson's mid-range model but, at full price, can still set you back a hefty amount. Despite being a few generations old, it still packs a host of helpful features – an easy-empty bin, informative LCD screen and decent battery life, though doesn't feature some of the super-smarts seen in some newer models. It's plenty powerful and perfect for pet owners thanks to its detangling motor bar that works well across hardwood floors and carpets. You can also transform it into a handheld vac for quick and convenient clean-ups. And given it's lighter than the newer models, you can even hold it up to get at ceiling corners if need be.
At half price, the V11 Advanced is a bargain! In the box will one cleaning head (aka the Digital Motorbar), the Hair Screw Tool to deal with pet (and your) hair, plus the Crevice and Combinations tools.
Dyson V11 Advanced: was AU$1,199 now AU$596 on Amazon
Is Black Friday the best time to buy Dyson products?
Generally speaking, yes. And more so this year because the prices keep dropping – between Amazon and directly from Dyson, there are some seriously steep price drops happening, so you're in luck if you've been holding off shelling out cash.
Luckily you still have a few days more until the deals end, so now would be definitely be the best time to shop all the Dyson products you've been holding out on – now is not the time to mull over it. Hurry, or you will miss out.
There are discounts of up to 50% – yes, half price! – available across different Dyson products and you have until the end of December 2 to suck up those savings (apologies for the pun).
UPDATE: Price-drop alert!
I've reviewed Dyson's older V7 and V8 vacuums, missed out on the V10 and V11, but then have tested nearly all the others that came after. Which is why I can say for sure that the discount on the Dyson Gen5detect is fantastic value!
You can opt for two models – the Absolute is down to AU$869.99 on Amazon while the Complete is AU$879 at Dyson. I would recommend the latter if you think your budget can stretch a little. Here's why:
The vacuums themselves are identical in every which way but the colour scheme they come in, but it's the number of attachments you get in the box that are different. Both will get you the same two main motorised cleaning heads – the Digital Motorbar for carpets and the Fluffy Optic for hard floors – and you'll also get the Hair Screw Tool thrown in as well. Both also get you the standard Crevice and Combination attachments too.
That's where it stops for the Absolute, but the list goes on for the Complete. You also get a soft-bristled scratch-free dusting brush, the Awkward Gap tool to get into the tightest of spaces, a bendable extension hose and (my favourite) the free-standing dock that Dyson calls Floor Dok Multi to stow all these things away. Admittedly the Floor Dok doesn't have enough room for all the attachments, but it's still a lovely way to store your vacuum cleaner. Just on a per-dollar value, I'd recommend the Complete if you have the extra cash.
• Dyson Gen5detect Absolute: was AU$1,549 now AU$869.99 on Amazon
• Dyson Gen5detect Complete: was AU$1,599 now AU$879 at Dyson
